ELAC

The purpose of an ELAC is to:

1.  Provide parents of English Learners opportunities to learn about

• Educational EL programs offered to students including bilingual possibilities
• The importance of regular school attendance

2.  Provide parents of English Learns training on

• ELAC responsibilities included elected members on their roles in the ARES ELAC
• Uniform Complaint Procedures - Williams Act

3.  Provide parents of English Learners opportunities to

• Advise the principal and school staff on the site plan for English learners, including effective actions to improve learning of English Learners
• Assist in the development of the school-wide needs assessment
• Elect as least one member to the District English Learner Advisory Committee (DELAC)
• Advise the principal and school staff on the use of LCAP discretionary spending
